Band Jacket Order Time

UPDATE!

Sophomores, juniors and seniors who have not ordered band varsity jackets ……quest will be at school Tuesday, August 8 at 5:45 for fittings.  Money is due 8/18. Orders cannot be sent in without payment.

 

All sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible to order band jackets.

Sample jackets from Quest Embroidery will be at band practice at 5:45 on Tuesday, August 08, 2017 and Tuesday, September 12, 2017 for students to try on for sizing.  As always, parents are welcome to come for sizings.  A jacket will cost $140.00 through extra-large (XL).  Tall and up to 5X sizes are available at an extra cost of $10 for each extra X or Tall.  Since the jackets take up to 6 weeks to make, we place two orders to speed up the shipments for most; the second order will allow others to consider and place later.  Please know that if we do NOT have at least six jackets in an order, an additional $10 per jacket is charged for that smaller order.  This should not be an issue for the first order; second orders are historically smaller.  If you know that your child will be ordering a jacket, we suggest taking advantage of the first order opportunity.

Policy on payment: Band Boosters will pay ¼ of the cost for each year of band membership that has been completed.

In about November of the student’s senior year or when a student moves out of the school district, the Band Boosters will reimburse them for the additional years of band service that have been completed since buying their jackets.  If a student completes 4 or more years of band service, then their jacket will end up not costing them anything.

In order to place the first jacket order, we would need payment no later than Friday, August 18; payment for the second order will be needed by Friday, September 15.  Checks should be made payable to CHS Band Boosters with your child’s name noted on the memo line.   We will not order a jacket until it is paid for, and these will be the only times to order this year.

Varsity jacket order form

If you eat your Wheaties before football games and competitions please consider helping on the truck crew. If you are able to load/unload the trucks and/or put props on the football field please contact president@carlislehighschoolband.org.

We are looking for volunteers to be a committee chair person in bandstand, fundraising, volunteer and grade parents. Any interest in these positions please email president@carlislehighschoolband.org

Bandstand-oversee the purchase and sale of all bandstand items. Bandstand sells items like sweatshirts, t-shirts, gloves, hats, knit hats, scarfs, buttons and any other ideas that you would like to bring to the BIG green stand.

Fundraising-oversee all fundraising activities. Fundraisers mostly consist of sandwich sales, cheesecakes, etc.

Volunteer-coordinate with the various committee chairpersons to obtain adequate staffing and other needed assistance for the numerous events.

Grade parents-parents to represent the following grades: eighth grade, freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior band parents.

We are asking for your help to come out and clean the football concession stands as football season is right around the corner. Our first home game is September 1, so the concession stands need a deep clean to make sure all the creepy crawly winter and summer bugs are out.

HOME side cleaning = Aug 12 at 8am

AWAY side cleaning = Aug 19 at 8am

Our first home game is September 1! Preseason deep cleaning of the 2 concession stands will be held on August 12 at the Home Side Concession Stand and August 19th for the Away Side Concession Stand.

We are still in need of help at this weekend’s car show Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. This particular show is one of the summer’s biggest. We have a great chance to sell a lot of food as the Saturday afternoon demonstrations and competitions play out! This crowd sticks around for their awards on Sunday too!  It’s easy to sign up.

Remember, we really need to be able to rent those Penske Trucks, to move our kids around to competitions and football games! We need to insure our use of them as well! Please come out and help! We do have fun while we work! Thank you!!

Interested in joining the 2017-2018 CHS Marching Band? Complete the interest form and join us on May 30th from 7-8PM in the high school band room to learn more.

There are 8 car shows scheduled for the Summer of 2017 and we need lots of help! Car shows are the biggest fundraiser for the band! Without profits from the car show, the band boosters would not be able to provide many services to the students. Please consider making time to volunteer and supporting the band.
