Band camp starts this week, and football games start at the end of the month. This is a very busy time of year, and the band NEEDS YOUR HELP! There are opportunities to serve food, chaperone football games, help in concessions, and hand out Kool Pops. For a complete list of volunteer opportunities, please visit our Help Wanted page. Football Game Concessions
Along with cleaning the football concession stands, we also need people to sign up to work concessions! These signups are now available. Don’t forget when you work in the concessions, whether it is car show, cleaning, or football games, you always earn money into your student’s trip account. Football Concessions Cleaning
Football season is almost here, and to get ready we need to clean our concession stands! We need volunteers to help clean and we need two pressure washers (with hoses) for each cleaning date. Volunteers may bring buckets, gloves and sponges if they would like, but this is not a requirement. You must bring your own water to drink if you are coming to help!
- Home side football concession stand cleaning is Saturday, August 11 starting at 8 am and going until the side is clean. Sign up to help.
- Visitor side football concession stand cleaning is Saturday, August 18 starting at 8 am and going until the side is clean. Sign up to help.
Band Camp Meals
Every year the band boosters provide meals during band camp. This year the boosters will be providing meals at 5 PM on the following dates:
- Monday, August 6
- Wednesday, August 8
- Wednesday, August 15
- Thursday, August 16
Help is needed to setup, serve the meal, and cleanup after the meal. We will also need donations of food. Please sign up to help in whatever capacity you can. Truck Nationals
Do you want to help support the CHS band program and have lots of fun at the same time? Come out to the fairgrounds and work a shift or two at the Truck Nationals! This is an easy and fun way to support our band students – but we can’t do it without YOUR HELP!
Kool Pops
The signup form for Kool Pops has been updated with more opportunities to help. Come hand out a cold treat and get to know our amazing band students and staff!

Clearances
People helping in the following booster positions are required to have clearances on file with the school district prior to volunteering:
- Chaperone
- Truck Crew
- Uniform Committee
If you are helping as a volunteer in other capacities, at this time you are not required to have clearances. Click here for more information on clearances.
News from Concessions
Truck Nationals is fast approaching and we are in need of help for all of the shifts. Please consider volunteering your time by working a shift or two. It’s an easy and fun way to support our band students! Click here for signups and other information.
We will be prepping food for the upcoming car shows:
- Truck Nationals food prep will be on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 8 am.
- Corvette food prep will be on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 6 pm.

Chaperones Wanted
School isn’t far off which means the band will soon be performing at football games, competitions, and parades! The band needs chaperones at all events, and signups are now available. You must have clearances on file with the school to be a chaperone. Click here for signups and clearance information.
News From the Uniform Committee
Ironing Bee
On Wednesday, August 8 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm there will be an ironing bee to press all the white pants for picture day. Anyone interested should email Ellen Morgan at uniforms@carlislehighschoolband.org to let her know. You will need to bring your own iron, ironing board, and a hand towel to put between iron and pants.
Dinkles
Fittings for Dinkles (band shoes) will start Tuesday, July 24. Orders must be submitted at the end of the day on Monday, August 6. All new students will automatically get fitted for shoes. If your child is a returning student and needs new dinkles, they must see someone from the uniform committee.
Varsity Jackets
Attention 10th, 11th and 12th graders! The first fitting for varsity jackets will be Tuesday, August 7 at 5:45 pm in the fitting room. Forms and payment are due by Friday, August 10th. No order can be submitted without payment. Parents are welcome to come to the fitting.
Jacket Costs:
- If this is your first year in marching band, the cost is $140.00
- If you have completed one full year in our band, the cost is $105.00.
- If you have completed two full years in our band, the cost is $70.00
- If you have completed three full years in our band, the cost is $35.00
- If you have completed four full years in our band, the cost is FREE.
